Although my interest in family estrangement is firmly rooted in my personal story, I am a scientist by heart and dedicated to sharing fact-based content. This area is for all of us who are interested in the research available on challenging family dynamics and estrangement. Welcome, and please nerd out with me!

P.S. Please note that this is a work- in- progress. I am actively adding resources, theories and my own ideas to this space. Also, there is a lot on my to-do list that I may not have got to yet. I welcome feedback on things you think I am missing, and appreciate your understanding that are gaps I have yet to fully attend to. I'm working on it!
What is the core biology behind family relationships? What causes us to leave relationships? How has the definition of family changed over the years- especially in the 21st century?
My personal experience of family estrangement threw all my preconceptions out of the window. As I continue to navigate life on the other side of this strange dynamic I am exploring it from all angles.
