WHO IS CHESS?
And what kind of name is Chess anyway?
Hi friends,
I am Chess. Chess is short for Francesca, my middle name. I use it for YouTube to avoid things coming back to my family. I am not ashamed of what I say or write, but as I do not consult with my family on the contents of my work and they may be mentioned, as a courtesy I prefer to keep a little separation.
Other important things to know about me are....
1) I am a psychotherapist, counsellor, and coach. I have many years of graduate level training, including a master's degree in Counselling Psychology and a doctorate in Geophysics. (Yes, 100% certified science nerd!). I worked for many years in science, business, financial services, and education. Although I have been interested in psychology for decades, it was only after my family situation imploded that the time was right for me to follow my true passion. My work is now to try to support others and their own life journeys.

2) I love animals. I have two cats who often attempt to bomb my videos. I try to have some say, but really, they are in charge.
3) I LOVE what I do- having real conversations about difficult subjects. I appreciate social media for the amazing platform it is, that allows people like us to connect. However, I don't love being online all the time. I take regular breaks from all my work to maintain my mental health, so I can continue this for as long as possible.
Thank you for your amazing support and patience as I learn and grow. I am continually humbled by the bravery you show by sharing your experiences and validating our stories. Without you, the club would be a party of one. And we all know that is no fun.
